BBQ Festival

BBQ FestivalMark your calendars: The first annual Southern New England Kosher BBQ Championship will take place on Sunday, September 7, 2014, from 11am - 6pm. This competition, which is for both barbecue enthusiasts as well as casual backyard grillers, is sanctioned by the World Kosher BBQ Championship in Memphis, Tennessee and hosted by Congregation Beth El, Fairfield, CT.

This year is the kick off event for what will eventually be an annual fair. With approximately 30 BBQ teams, entertainment throughout the day, food eating contests, kids' play zone and activities, local TV and radio stations on site AND this wonderful gathering of artists, the results are sure to be a day like no other. Taking place completely outdoors, it's fun, food and activity for the whole family!

festivalAs this event coincides with the 375th anniversary of the town of Fairfield, town officials are happy to join forces with us to promote it through their media as well as help coordinate police and emergency staff. With such a mass effort it's no wonder the estimated attendance is 3,000+ people.

This event is open to the general public. Admission is a donation of two canned goods, which will be brought to Operation Hope (the local shelter) to fill their shelves for those less fortunate.

Parking will be available at the Fairfield Middle School and Jennings Elementary School. For street parking, please follow all posted Police signs and local ordinances including no parking within 30 feet of a stop sign. Click here the parking map.
